Hi. One of our partner congregations asked us to find out if any Orthodox cemeteries or Orthodox sections of Jewish cemeteries allow someone to be buried in that section if the deceased was not converted by an Orthodox rabbi. (I think the person in question (currently in hospice care) was converted by a Conservative rabbi/bet din at a Conservative mikvah.
        Anyone come across this?
        Thanks,

          Hi, Glenn,
Our rules for our Orthodox cemeteries/sections requires any conversion to have been done by an Orthodox rabbi. It would be worth talking to whomever would be the rabbi with authority on the decision, however, as there can be extenuating circumstances or personal knowledge the rabbi might have of the Conservative rabbi/bet din practice that might (NOT LIKLEY, but might) allow for an exception.
          Best,
          David
